When Leadership Heals
Founder & CEO Ruban Roberts wrote for the Miami Herald about what leadership asks of a person when disagreement turns cold: listening closely, telling the truth about what is not working, and staying in the room long enough for repair to be possible.
The op-ed reads leadership as a healing practice. When a team, a family, or a community is in conflict, the person leading sets the terms of what happens next, and the choice is usually between winning the argument and keeping the relationship intact. Roberts writes from his experience as a licensed mental health professional and from years of running dialogue sessions where young people, parents, and law enforcement sit across from one another and talk.
